Parque Nacional del Chicamocha (Panachi) is the standout excursion: its 6.3 km cable car crosses the canyon from side to side with over 1,200 metres of elevation change. Barichara — National Monument and Colombia's most beautiful village — enchants with cobblestone streets and whitewashed walls. San Gil offers rafting, paragliding and caving.
