Gastronomy and markets
La Boqueria is the iconic symbol of Barcelona's food culture, but insiders prefer Mercat de Santa Caterina, Mercat del Ninot or Mercat de l'Abaceria for a crowd-free experience. The Born neighbourhood hosts the city's most creative restaurants, ranging from deeply rooted Catalan cuisine to Asian and Latin American influences. Gràcia, more intimate in feel, offers neighbourhood terraces and wine bars where locals escape the tourist trail. Carrer Parlament and the Mercat de Sant Antoni have become the epicentre of Barcelona's speciality coffee and brunch scene.
